Tribute to Wayne Smith at Exall Park

The Friends of Exall Park has been working with the Park Department to name the Exall Park ballfield after Wayne Smith.  This in honor of his twenty plus years of service to Exall Park and his eight years of service on the Dallas Park Board.  He was instrumental in working with the city and other dedicated volunteers in transforming Exall from a neglected inner-city park to the vibrant and safe community gathering place that we all enjoy today.  Please join us in celebrating the approval of this tribute to Wayne for his many years of leadership to Exall Park, Bryan Place, and the Dallas Park Board on Saturday, October 1st from 10am-11am at the ball field.

To commemorate the naming of the field, the Friend’s group has purchased a  bronze plaque to be mounted on a boulder and placed near the ballfield bleachers.  A sign will also be installed on the ballfield backstop facing Bryan Street in the next few months.
